FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

  1. DO YOU OFFER VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN MENUS?

 

  1. If vegetarian meals are requested we will work with you to develop a vegetarian option for your guests.

 

  1. DO YOU OFFER DECORATING SERVICES?

 

  1. No, we do not.  However Classic Café, Inc.  can provide colored table linens, and napkins in an effort to coordinate with center pieces or color schemes.

 

We do provide table skirting for food, cake, gift, and appetizer tables.  Buffet tables are also attractively decorated, further adding to the presentation of the food.

If you would like to have the facility professionally decorated we can confidently say that Cheryl at Party Apart, or Bob Muttons Party Rental do an excellent job.

 

  1.  CAN YOU CREATE CUSTOM MENUS FOR AN EVENT?

 

  1. Yes, in fact most of the events we professionally cater are customized specifically for our guests.

 

  1. DO YOU PROVIDE BAR TENDERS OR BAR SERVICES?

 

  1. Most facilities require anyone providing alcoholic beverages to hold a liquor license and bar tenders license.  Classic Café can provide you with professional bar tenders at a rate of $20.00 per hour.  If professional bar services are desired Belmont Liquors, Cap N Cork, or Kristian Roe of the Golf Dome all do excellent work at a fair price.

 

  1. DO YOU PROVIDE DECORATED WEDDING CAKES OR OTHER SPECIAL     DESSERTS?

 

  1. Yes we do.  Our professional baker Polly Dunham bakes and creates great cakes for all occasions. To view her portfolio, please call her at our office to set up an appointment.

 

 

  1. WHAT IS YOUR LEFT OVER POLICY?

 

  1. We do not allow our guests to take left over’s.  Classic Café in an effort to never run out of food, (thus avoiding a possible embarrassing situation), prepares extra food at our expense.  We also honor our insurance companies request to discard any left over’s to avoid possible litigations if food poisoning is contracted due to improperly handled food that is out of our control.

 

  1. DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR CHINA, GLASSWARE, TABLE LINENS, COFFEE SERVICE, OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUESTS?

 

  1. Yes we do, please review our surcharge section.  Special requests can be discussed during our initial meeting or phone conversation.  If we can’t assist you in a special request, we can refer you to someone who has the expertise required to do so.

     

  1. WHEN ARE FINAL GUEST COUNTS REQUIRED?

 

  1. In most cases, any event held on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, we will need the expected guest count called into the office on the Wednesday prior to the date of your event.  All other deadlines can be discussed during our meetings.

 

  1. WHAT DOES THE FINAL EXPECTED GUEST COUNT MEAN?

 

  1. The count called into our office will be the number of meals prepared plus a few  extra, (at our expense). It is the number that we will use in calculating the total food cost portion of your bill.

 

  1. DOES CLASSIC CAFÉ INC CHARGE A SERVICE CHARGE OR GRATUITY?

 

  1. Yes we do, however not in all instances.  Our normal gratuity surcharge is 15% of food charges only.  Indiana sales tax of 7% is not included in service gratuity amount. The service gratuity is greatly reduced for non profit organizations, churches, church groups, schools, fund raisers, and at some area faculties that charge us and all caterers a 15% catering fee.  For example, if your event is held at the Botanical Gardens or Chamber of Commerce locations, we are charged a 15% catering fee owed to the facility.  As a result we greatly reduce our service gratuity fee in an effort to be fair and keep your total catering service costs as low as possible.

 

  1. ARE DEPOSITS REQUIRED?

 

  1. Yes, two weeks prior to the date of your event, a deposit totaling 50% of the estimated invoice will be required.  Because we are flexible and do understand the real world and problems that may arise.  Classic Café will refund any deposit if the food or other special purchase have not been made prior to being notified of the cancellation.  If weather is the cause for a cancellation, we can agree for a rain date or rescheduling of the event at a time that is convenient for you and your organization.
